Welcome to the Indian Hills High School Business Department Website! 

The Indian Hills High School Business Department successfully prepares students who wish to pursue the study of various business fields in college, or who wish to enter the business world after completing high school.  The teachers in the business department are highly knowledgeable and focus on including current real-world applications in their courses.   Technology is integrated throughout the Business courses to prepare students to meet the demands of a technology-driven business community.

The Business Departments’ courses are designed to meet a variety of needs.  All students take Financial Literacy, in which students develop skills related to a variety of areas such as financial planning and investment.  We also offer a number of elective Business courses in which students can gain experience in fields such as Accounting, Business Management, Business Continuity, Marketing, and Web Design. 

Business Course Offerings –Accounting 1 &  2, Application Development (I-APPs), Business Continuity & Management, Business Principles & Management, Computer Anatomy, Contemporary Business Technology, Digital Media, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Marketing, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and Web Design. Please see Program of Studies for more information 

Pathways Programs: There are two business pathways programs currently offered; Business/Computer Science Pathway and  Information Technology and Cyber Security Pathway Programs- Please see the Pathways Component of the Program of Studies. 

Extra help – extra help is provided by teachers after school.  Any student who has additional questions or would like extra practice is encouraged to see his or her teacher for extra help during this time.

DECA:  DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge.
