Google Workspace / District Email
he RIH District has been using Google Workspace (formerly Google G-Suite) since 2011. It will be the primary collaboration platform for the district going forward.
An account for every active student should already been established: https://accounts.google.com

IMPORTANT TIP:
Students are encouraged to use Google Drive so that files are backed up in the cloud and could be retrieved in the unlikely event of a major failure with the laptop. See "Using Google Drive for Desktop" for additional details.
Schoology (LMS)
Schoology is the District's primary learning management system (LMS). Most teachers will be using this on-line service to post homework assignments and on-line assessments. In addition, school administrators along with club advisors and coaches may use this platform to post announcements as well.
An account for every active student should already been established. Students will use their district issued email and credential to access Schoology.
It is important to use the correct URL: https://rih.schoology.com when accessing the RIH Schoology portal.

Students should connect their Schoology accounts with their Google Drives. See "How to use my Google Drive with Schoology" above.

In addition, to the homework component, we will be using Schoology’s social media platform to communicate within our district.
As a student, you will belong to at least 2 major groups: your corresponding class (e.g. Class of 2025 – IHHS, Class of 2025 – RHS, etc.), and your respective school community (e.g. Ramapo High School Community or Indian Hills High School Community).
The building Principals, Vice Principals and advisors will utilize these groups for special announcements or to communicate upcoming events. Students are welcome to post updates, questions, and comments relating to the groups as well. However, everyone must adhere to the following guidelines:
Schoology is to be used for school related matters only. Postings should be relevant to the specific group / course.
Although it’s similar in layout, this is NOT Facebook. This platform is to be used for school related communication only. Do not post your “Facebook status”, use it for gossip, rumors, insults or bullying.
Report any inappropriate behavior / postings to your teacher immediately.
Irrelevant or questionable postings will be deleted. Disciplinary action will be taken.
Remember, for the two major groups (Ramapo High School Community & Indian Hills High School Community), everyone in your school, including teachers, principals and the Administration can see your posts.
Repeat violators to the above guidelines will lose access privileges. If you do lose your access privileges, you will still be responsible for all of your homework assignments.
Genesis (SIS) / Parent Access
Genesis is the districts Student Information System (SIS). Genesis is used by staff and administration for grading, attendance, conduct, etc. Students and Parents have the ability to monitor their performance in real-time using the Genesis Parent Access (https://parents.rih.org).
Parent Access Tips
- Please keep in mind parents / guardians and students each have their own parent account access to Genesis. Please do not give your student your logon information. Parent accounts have access to update contact information whereas the students do not.
- We ask that you regularly check and update the Parent Contact Information if anything should change. Having this current data available allows the school and family to remain in contact by simply accessing Genesis.
- Only guardians will be sent notifications to their home contact information. Any contact that is labeled "work" or emergency contact will not receive notifications
- If a guardian needs to be added, please add them as an Emergency contact and then contact your guidance department to make the change to a Guardian.

- Parents with students also in the Franklin Lakes or Wyckoff school district, although they also use Genesis as their Student Information System, it is not linked to Ramapo Indian Hills. You will need to log in at 2 separate locations.
- Parents with students from Oakland. Since Oakland does not have Genesis we ask that you please double check your contact information. We often only receive one parent / guardian or missing parent phone numbers or emails when importing into our system.
If you have any issues logging in or need to add a student to your account, please email csd@rih.org. Please allow 24 hours for a response.
MySchoolBucks (Meals / Insurance)
The RIH District uses MySchoolBucks as the on-line payment platform for parents to securely deposit funds for student meals, pay the yearly laptop insurance premium and/or pay for specific activity/testing fees.
Every active student should already have a profile in MySchoolBucks. Parents will need to sign up for an account with MySchoolBucks and add their students to their accounts accordingly.
Instructions to create an account in MySchoolBucks: https://myschoolbucks.com
- Click on "Sign Up Free".
- Select "New Jersey" for the State field.
- Select "Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School" for the District field
- Complete your profile and submit to create an account
- Proceed to Continue to Add A Student or select Add a Student under MEAL ACCOUNTS
- Enter your child's First Name
- Enter your child's Last Name
- Enter your child's Birthdate (mm/dd/yyyy)
- Note: The names and birthdate must match the official student records
- Please repeat process for each additional child
Paying laptop insurance once you have an account with MySchoolBucks:
- Go to MySchoolBucks: https://myschoolbucks.com
- Log in to your account
- Click on Browse All Items under SCHOOL STORE
- Click on VIEW DETAILS for the RHS/IHHS Laptop Insurance Fee
- Select the student to apply the item to (You may select multiple students)
- Select amount based on number of students ($70, $140 or $175 max for household)
- Click on ADD TO BASKET
- Click on Shopping Cart icon (upper right) and click on VIEW CART/CHECKOUT
- Provide payment method and click PLACE STORE ORDER
Make a Payment to Meal Accounts:
- Go to MySchoolBucks: https://myschoolbucks.com
- Log in to your account
- Click on Meal Accounts
- Click on Make a Payment
- Select amount for each child
- Complete payment method and click Continue
Schoolmessenger / E-Blasts
SchoolMessenger Alert System is the service Ramapo Indian Hills uses for most announcements / notifications via emails, text messages, and/or phone calls. Parents can manage their contact information by updating their Guardian information in Genesis Parent Access (only parent accounts have the ability to update contact information ion Genesis Parent Access).
To update parent contact information:
- Login to parent access
- Click on the Contacts tab
- Update current Guardian contact information. *
* If a Guardian is missing and needs to be added or is listed as an Emergency contact, please email your school Guidance Department at:

- Indian Hills H.S. – ihguidanceoffice@rih.org
Please note only the home and cell phone will be contacted for both Guardian 1 and Guardian 2. Guardian work numbers as well as Emergency Contacts will not be contacted.
To Receive Text Messages:
You will need to register your cell phone with SchoolMessenger in order to receive text messages from Ramapo Indian Hills. You can participate in this service by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587. Please see our flyer for more information on how to register your cell phone.
If you have registered your phone number in the past you will not need to do so again.
Parent Tip:
At the bottom of each "e-blast" the district sends out, be careful not to click unsubscribe. Doing so will remove you from all future e-blasts.
