Indian Hills High School is proud to announce our status as a Gilder Lehrman Affiliate School. Since 1994, the Institute has been the nation's leading nonprofit provider of K-12 teacher training and classroom resources in the field of American history. Through the Affiliate School Program, our students are eligible for two essay contests, and our teachers are eligible for Teacher Seminars with preeminent historians, free monthly materials, self-paced courses on American History, and a digital exhibition on World War 1.
The Affiliate School Status is recognition of our role in the Gilder Lehrman Institute community, and one that would not have been possible without the efforts of our teaching staff. We would like to recognize and thank the following teachers for their participation, efforts, and time spent in the Gilder Lehrman programs:
Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson – "Economics and Financial Crisis in American History" at NYU
Mrs. Keely Leggour – "The American Civil War" at University of Virginia
Ms. Ivy Urdang – "New York and the Gilded Age" at NYU; "Passages to Freedom: Teaching the Underground Railroad" at Amherst; "Beyond Amistad: The African American Struggle for Citizenship" at Yale
