Indian Hills students decorated 900 whales in just 2-1/2 days as part of a campaign created by Vineyard Vines and Simon & Schuster. The two companies are working together to provide books to students and educators impacted by Hurricane Michael. To support this campaign, students creatively colored the iconic Vineyard Vines whale logo, and for each one shared on Twitter, the companies will provide a new book. Indian Hills students demonstrated tremendous empathy as they worked to help the hurricane victims, and at the same time the students themselves benefited from the shared sense of community, with everyone working together for a common cause. Many students also found the act of coloring to be relaxing and said it brought a sense of calm to their day. The whales are on display in the media center. We’re so proud of our Braves!
