Sportsmanship

At RIH, we prioritize sportsmanship above all else. Our athletes, coaches, students, and parents are expected to embody the spirit of fair play at all times.

What we expect:

  • Positive encouragement: Cheer for your team and recognize outstanding plays by both sides.
  • Respectful conduct: Treat all participants, officials, and fans with courtesy and dignity.
  • Adherence to rules: Follow all NJSIAA and Big North conference rules and regulations.

Code of Conduct:

  • Positive support: Cheer enthusiastically for your team.
  • Respectful behavior: Refrain from negative comments and booing.
  • Acceptance of decisions: Respect the officials' calls.
  • Safety and courtesy: Prioritize the safety and comfort of all participants.
  • State regulations: Adhere to state regulations regarding noisemakers, signs, and banners.

Zero Tolerance:

  • Negative behavior will not be tolerated. Violations may result in ejection from the event.

By upholding these principles, we create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for all involved.

REMEMBER THAT IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO ATTEND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC CONTESTS.

Spectators can help promote good sportsmanship by observing the rules of fair play. Any verbal, written, or physical conduct related to race, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or religion shall not be tolerated, could subject the violator to ejection, and may result in penalties being assessed against your team. Each one is requested to take personal responsibility for keeping this competition at a high level of good sportsmanship.
